Eugene International High School, winner of the 2007 Goldman Sachs Foundation prize for Excellence in International Education, began 27 years ago in the Eugene School District.
The school celebrated by hosting a 25th Anniversary Celebration on Friday, April 23, 2010 at the Lane Community College Center for Meeting & Learning.  The theme for the evening was “Looking Back, Moving Forward.”  The program included Dwayne Adcock, original founder of Eugene IHS who spoke about the history of the school, former student and Eugene IHS benefactor Brian O’Kelley spoke on the future of international education, and  Halle Shirk, a current student and Project Our Turn creator offered her insights on the importance of an international education.  The evening kicked-off with the Lion Dancers from the Chinese American Benevolent Association and student performances from musicians to dancers provided wonderful entertainment! The event was attended by alumni, retirees, parents, and current staff and students.

ALUMNI FUND FOR EUGENE INTERNATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
We were thrilled to be able to provide two scholarships for international travel to deserving students as the result of alumnus Brian O'Kelley's overwhelming vision and generosity. Because of our shared understanding of the importance of student travel for international understanding, the Alumni Fund for Eugene International High School has been established at the Oregon Community Foundation with a generous donation from Brian. With concerted efforts, we hope to grow this fund significantly in the future.

If you would like to contribute to the Alumni Fund for Eugene IHS simply go to the Oregon Community Foundation website at: http://oregoncf.org/. Once there you can click on "For Donors" to find out the
different ways you can give back to Eugene International High School, then contact the
Oregon Community Foundation at (541)431-7099.

Thank you for your continued support and participation in making our school a success!

"Looking back on my experience with Eugene IHS I now realize how important it was in shaping my comprehensive understanding of the world around me. I credit the [school] with teaching me to love learning and my subsequent success in college and graduate school. I felt that I started college ahead of my freshman peers in terms of my writing abilities and time management skills. Plus, it made me really good at Jeopardy.
--Alison (Stark) Leiman, Class of 2000

"Nothing prepares you better for success
than Eugene IHS!"
--Sarah (Withrow) King, Class of 1996
